Equipment Locations

• For most objects, look outside of OR 7. The following has been known to be stored there:

  • Zeiss Microscope

  • B&L Vitrectomy Machine

  • Large (6' x 6' x 2') rolling cart with all surgical equipment

    • This includes an indirect laser which is connected to the B&L

  • Cryotherapy

• For anything else, god forbid you're the one going to find it. Use the spreadsheet linked below to let one of the staff members know where they can get it. Else, there are three locations

  • RetCam is usually around the main OR (sitting outside room 7). Otherwise, need to pretty please borrow from NICU 

  • All sutures are in the sterile core on the second floor. 

  • For everything else, go to the basement down the elevator in the sterile core. Take a right and a left. In the corner of that room is a rack that has all of the trays. Go into the next room to the east (does this sound like Zelda yet?), and you will find the aisles on the far side of the room with all of the ophthalmology equipment. Racks 11 and 12.

• There is also a sub-sterile core within OR7 that has the charger and the two indirect ophthalmoscopes

  • If you use these, please bring them back or specifically assign someone to bring them back to charge.

• Please please please - if anything is broken or missing, please let someone know (Rea, below, or one of the attendings), so that it can be fixed/replaced/purchased.

*IOL are not housed at main OR. They are transported by the Fellow from GHEI (althought in 2/2025, the team had IOLs ready for me  which I dunno where they got it from)
